Tour Guide
Alex guides tours in the Nice area with Lifesparkz. He is a certified cycling coach and bike mechanic. Growing up in les Alpes-Maritimes and being an avid cyclist for decades, he knows the region like no one else. He used to cycle and compete on an elite level but is now peddling for the fun of sharing the road, great mountains and stories of lives with others. Alex is also a trail runner, husband and father and works at the Bike Shop by Phillippe Gilbert in Monaco when he isn't guiding. Speaks English and French (mother tongue).
Tour Guide
Luca has guided tours with Lifesparkz since 2022. Luca is an Italian Nicois. He grew up just on the Italian side of the border, in Ventimiglia, and now enjoys life in Nice with his wife and two girls. He loooves cycling around the region and knows both the French and Italian pre-Alpes by heart. Rumours says that he is also very fond of football! Luca has a background in marketing and has worked for many years in the cruise ship sector. Speaks English, Italian (mother tongue) and French.
Tour Guide
Jofre is a catalan former professional cyclist and now a cycling coach based in La Costa Daurada. A few years ago he cycled in the peloton with a certain Pablo Castrillo and is now a trainer for cyclists on all levels including for pro team riders from teams like Redbull Bora-Hansgrohe and various Italian teams. We agree that the Costa Daurada offers much interesting cycling - even more than around cycling famous Girona in Catalonia - as here you have more climbs near your starting point, hardly any traffic (so quiet!) while cycling in beautiful scenery!! Jofre guides road bike and MTB (advanced level MTB as the terrain is for technical downhill). He speaks English, Spanish and his mother tongue Catalan.

We offer guided or self-guided tours in France and Albania. In France we give you routes suited to your fitness level. In Albania you follow a set of routes.
On self-guided tours you are in charge and follow your rhythm. It is possible to choose e-bikes on both locations if you would like to go the extra mile. In Albania a service car follow your group and you can jump in if you have a bad day.
Please get in touch if you are going on a family holiday and would like to tour with us. We advice you on our different tours and if they are suitable for children and adolescents.
The tours are for experienced road bike cyclists as we cycle in mountainous areas that are medium-difficult technical levels.
We guide tours on 3 different levels of distance and climbing. Our groups are of up to 8 persons per guide, we like to make our rides social as well as challenging and leave no-one behind.
This depends on the trip you choose. When you book a custom made tour in France or a custom made training camp in France or Spain, you can ride as much or as little as you want. We will provide you with a range of options for routes when you book, so you can ride varying distances with different ranges of gradient. You can simply pick the routes that best suit you when we plan your tour.
Our guided holidays in Albania are ridden at a relatively leisurely pace. It is an active holiday not a race so wherever possible, you will cycle at your own pace, regrouping regularly at meeting points along the route. On our pre-scheduled training camps or daily guided rides, we will advise you of the speed the rides are ridden at and in most destinations, we will have 2 or 3 different riding groups, cycling at different speeds.
You can choose road bikes, gravel road bikes, or mountain bikes of various levels. Our standard is a quality carbon road bike that comes with disc brakes and manual gear. You can choose electric gears. If you prefer a flat handle bar, you can pick a touring (hybrid) style bike. You can also choose e-bikes. In France we supply both e-touring and e-road bikes. In Spain and Albania we supply e-touring bikes. Please specify which bike you would like for your tour when booking.
You can choose Look pedals, SPD pedals, Shimano pedals or flat pedals or bring your own pedals. Please check availability of pedals when booking if you book a bike.
All bikes come with a set of tools, a spare tube and a small pump. Often they come with a helmet, if you do not bring your personal helmet.
